You're off to a good start. I don't know when that book was published, so just keep in mind that computer help books almost always go obsolete even before they hit the shelves.
I moved away from Blogger a few months ago (I'm hosting my own blogs using WordPress now), but I understand they're coming out with a totally new, upgraded version of Blogger with all new features. Keep your eyes open, and don't be shy about referring to Blogger's Help Desk and Forums to figure things out.
